When something looks insurmountable, figure out a way to make it work for you! When I'm not tutoring, I work as a journalist in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I'd get some tools, carefully and safely take it apart, and then put it back together with all of the colors aligning. I used to sit down, turn the blocks for a bit, and then realize there was another way to make it work. My younger sister used to sit down with it, give it about 90 seconds, throw it down and then walk away. My older sister used to sit down with it for hours, turning and twisting the blocks to try and solve the puzzle.
I have two sisters and my dad always talks about how each one of us used to play with a Rubik's Cube.
